If you’re an employer, there are many reasons to look after the health of your workforce.
It goes without saying that you should always care about the people who work for you. But healthy staff members are also more motivated, recover from sickness quicker and are at less risk of long-term illness. And that can only be good for business.
With this in mind, Access Health is working with employers across the county to provide free NHS Health Checks for eligible staff.
It’s like a free health MOT, which can detect potential health problems before they do real damage. They may even save your life. For instance, even if you’re on the verge of a stroke, you may not feel ill at all - that’s why it’s called the silent killer.
Checks are for people aged between 40 and 73, who don’t currently have a diagnosis of heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, stroke or dementia.
The nurse or healthcare assistant will ask some simple questions about the employee’s lifestyle and family history, measure height and weight, take blood pressure and do a blood test.
Based on this, they’ll be given an idea of their chances of getting one of conditions listed above. They’ll then receive personalised advice to lower their risk.
All we require from employers is a room for privacy and, ideally, access to WiFi. We’ll even sort out appointments for staff to pre-book a slot.
The deadline for free checks is June 2017, so get in touch now on 01392 269497.
